# Welcome to Destiny

A simple story guide to help new and returning players journey into the Destiny universe.

Hello, new and returning Guardians!\
Are you struggling to figure out the story? You are not alone.

In 2020, Bungie (the developer of Destiny) introduced "Destiny Content Vault (DCV)" and removed much of the game’s older content—including campaigns and activities—released before the Beyond Light expansion. This dealt a significant blow to the new player experience, making it considerably more difficult for New Lights to understand the story and get started.

This lore map & story guide will (hopefully) be a guide to help you to figure out the big picture of the Destiny universe. Enjoy!
